How awful we children have been to you. You nurture us and still we rebel. You care for us and still we rebel. You’ve given us everything we could need to survive well and still, we rebel. You give us warnings that we are inching closer to punishment for our behavior and still, we rebel. In true motherly fashion, you find ways to forgive us but you never forget. There’s something about the sun showers of Summertime. The way the air cools. The smell of the wet grass. The sound of the roller thunder. The heaviness of the rain drops. The magnificence of the heavy clouds. How blue the sky gets and how yellow the Sun becomes. Oh, how fortunate we are should we encounter such beauty. I highly recommend that should you ever witness one, stand beneath it, tilt your head to the sky and drink from Mother Nature’s bounty. I promise, it does wonders for the soul. -GRF

Ah, the gentle still of a passing day. The way to calm yourself is to watch the stillness of nature. Breathe it in. Let it clear a path inside of you. To clean all that is unpleasant and stagnant within you. Listen to the birds above, hear the melody of the frogs nearby. Watch the smallest bugs dance across the water, leaving the tiniest ripples in their wake. Watch the fish dart in unpredictable ways. And only close your eyes for half a heartbeat, for you do not want to miss what’s underneath this quiet facade in front of you. -GRF
