While I do post pics of wines I’m having I don’t post a lot about Texas wines. Mainly because I don’t drink a higher proportion of Texas wines compared to the rest of the wine world. I’m very much a drink everything kind of person. I thought I’d post this here because it IS a Texas wine and it’s pretty tasty to 👢 Went to Saltgrass for my dad’s birthday lunch. Decided to give this one from @messina_hof a try. NV red blend. Varietal Composition 41% Primitivo 37% Cabernet Sauvignon 15% Petite Sirah 7% Sangiovese Very tasty. Dad approved too ;) $27 on the restaurant’s wine list and about $14 on their site so not too terrible on the markup. It’s pretty standard if not slightly less than I expected. Solid wine that’s a good daily drinker. 💯 Texas fruit. Not your father’s sweet Texas red though it’s very fruit forward. DONE! Final edit has been completed. Now creating a “deliverable” for @texas_wine to review. I feel it’s an excellent film and combines telling the story of Texas wine along with the story of TWGGA. Now, when will the general public get to see it? Not sure. TWGGA needs to figure out how they want their membership to see it. I expect to make it public some time this year. Maybe very soon, maybe much later this year. No matter what I’m extremely proud of this project. It took somewhere around 300 total hours to do. Including a lot of time thinking about how to edit, doing extra research, and figuring things out that I’ve never done. Update of sorts. I don’t have any WWTV content coming out till possibly May or June. Mainly because I’m finishing up a major project for @texas_wine (TWGGA). It’s a documentary about the past presidents of TWGGA and the importance of the organization. I’d say it’s my most ambitious project ever. I’m excited to see the final product. Like winemaking, you need high quality grapes in order to make high quality wine. You can also make not so good wine with high quality grapes. In this case I have some great content. More than I can actually use. It’s going to be hard to decide what stays. But the goal is to tell a story, not just throw some clips together. I have over 4 hours of interviews plus more hours of B-roll. Most of that will never see the light of day. If all goes well, this film will be made public by the end of April or beginning of May. And if it really goes well, I may try to do more wine documentaries. I have at least two ideas that I won’t share cuz I don’t want anyone to steal them. Who knows?
