Doing the audio editing is almost as long as video right now. It’s kind of complicated, but you’re seeing the process of effectively eliminating the other voices (3) from one of the interview panels I did at TWGGA. Without doing this, an unnatural echo gets created from each lavalier mic picking up other voices than the one assigned to it. It’s almost unavoidable AFAIK without having lavaliers that cost in the upper hundreds of dollars range. And even then, it’ll still be there. This software will greatly reduce it and then when I edit the actual video I can make further adjustments as necessary. It’s also very CPU intensive so I can’t run Final Cut at the same time to find the clips I want to use and figure out the order. I can do some basic email and web surfing. It may be less time consuming to do the same thing in Final Cut Pro by dropping the volume for each track when the person is not speaking, but it’s more tedious. I also will still have that echo if more than one person ends up speaking at the same time. Like when one person finishes and another begins or if people are laughing or making short affirmations or comments. I’m doing the largest panel first and then moving on to the smaller ones next. I also had to remember how to do this with more than two people as the software is quirky about it. Seems like it doesn’t do as effective of a job when bringing in the third and fourth file if you don’t quit and actually restart the computer. The preview function works perfectly, but the render barely does anything. #twgga #filmmaker #wine #texaswine #txwine #lifewithmark https://www.instagram.com/p/CanCDjqrY6W/?utm_medium=tumblr
