THE POWER IN THE NAME OF THE DEMON
As mentioned in the previous Text 5 the Name of the Demon and its translation into Magickal Text is utilized in THE BLACK GRIMOIRE in place of Sigils, while many practitioners believe that the true power source of the Demon is its Sigil I and others who I have been tutored by and Worked with have found that the true source of power is in the actual Name of the Demon. Many books will warn against the speaking of a Demon’s Name aloud (at least books written by those of the Right Hand Path) for they know that the very uttering of the Name of a Demon resonates across the dimension and awakens its force and its attention toward you. The Catholic Priest when challenging Demons in conflict - particularly during Exorcisms - knows that he must obtain the Name of the the Possessing Demon to truly be sure of having a chance of banishing the Infernal Spirit. The current of the Demon’s Name flows with its energy, the more the Name is called the stronger the flow of that energy becomes. During Exorcisms the Priest also calls upon the Names of God and the Angels the battle then ensues between the forces in conflict, despite the fact that many fictional account depict the Catholic Exorcist being successful many have been killed and mentally broken during such Rites. To the Satanist the Demon’s Name is also of great power, ineffable power which can bring forth the Infernal Spirit’s energy current into this World to make manifest the objectives of the Initiate and of Satan Himself. The use of the Demon’s Name translated into a chosen Magickal Text is far more powerful that the use of the Sigil which often is hard to locate and even when located has dubious origin sources. The warnings written in the books of Right Hand Path practitioners and scholars are not without meaning, they are aware that even the whispering of their true Name can bring its influences into the personal sphere of the one who dares utter it. Within THE BLACK GRIMOIRE the power of Demonic Names and the power of the spoken word in general are of great importance, words carry the very essence of their meaning with them which is why the lyrics of a song or the verses of a well written poem can stir emotions of varying kinds to the surface of the human mind. The speech that rallies, the Poem that inspires, the declaration that rises hope, the condemnation which crushes hope . . . all are forged from the power which lies within spoken word. Consider this power and the fact that the Demonic Name is of even greater force and one will come to understand the importance of the use of Demon’s Names and the reverence in which they should be held. The calling or chanting of streams of Demonic Names to a specific purpose carries such immense power that they can be utilized alone to effect Infernally Magickal results. The banishing of unwanted Spirits for instance can be successfully carried out by the verbal calling of the Names of appropriate Demonic Entities uttered with force. Throughout the texts of THE BLACK GRIMOIRE the Readers shall discover more and more the importance of the power held within the Demonic Name and come to understand that it is as a verbal Talisman that can be called upon even outside the sacred sphere of the Ritual Sanctum.
