I played DAI with Hayden's brother Troy for a few minutes and I was like "wow this precious cinnamonroll is going to need someone to hold his hand so he doesn't trip and fall", but then I remembered that it's post da2 and Troy is no longer a scared mage locked up in the Gallows, he's an angry apostate ready to fight anyone and everyone to gain freedom for mages and it took about two minutes before he started shouting at Cass to let him go.

I started thinking about that drinking cutscene you get with Bull after killing a high dragon and then I started thinking about Genevieve being 16 and if Bull (aka. the big softie) would actually let her drink that stuff and decided that yes he will, if only for my amusement. (And because lbr, he would probably find it amusing when Cullen becomes the over protective dad and tries to rip Bull's head off for getting his daughter hammered)

Also Bull probably wouldn't let her drink as much as any other inquisitor, so I just imagine him going "I think you've had enough, kid" and she just slurrs out "I can handle it!" and just trying really hard just to see straight.

And because I accidentally started shipping her with Krem, of course her lowered inhibitions will result in an awkward, drunk confession that makes no sense to poor Krem because even if he could hear what she was slurring, she's making absolutely no sense, and now I really want to write it.

Today Hayden got a third sister, namely amandakitswell's Arais. Because Teagan can't be without his Arais and now Hayden has a best friend sister

so this got me thinking about what would happen with my Cullen's baby girl Geneviève

because Cullen and Geneviève's father-daughter relationship is so complicated, so i just see Cullen wanting to bond with his daughter and he asks her to dance at the Orlesian ball. he's not terrible at dancing, but he also only knows the basics and he hasn't been to an actual ball to dance before, but he asks her anyway

but Geneviève on the other hand has been to plenty of balls before because her adoptive family was nobles, and she's actually really good at dancing too, so she knows right away that Cullen isn't good at it, and she just goes "Andraste's ass, you suck at this, let me lead at least so you don't step on my feet" and it ends up being a kind of bonding experience anyway

Long headcanon post about my inquisitor Geneviève...

Out of curiosity how old is she? How old Hayden was when she left the circle? And where Anders gets involved?? <. < (….But her spirit she got from Anders….) I’m missing something … .

Dragon Age speculations and minor spoilers below.

Canonly, I'm guessing BioWare sees the inquisitors in their mid 20s. Headcanonly, Geneviève is in her late teens, about 17-19, for a few different reasons, the main one being that we still have no idea how old Cullen is. I picture him to be in his early 40s at the end of DA2, but there are some fans who suspect he might actually be (spoiler alert?) Maric and Fiona's son, which would make him younger than Alistair (though that would mean he's a full templar by the age of 16, if I have the timeline right, which I don't see as likely). So I'm kinda hoping that if we find out how old Cullen is, it won't go to far from how old I imagine him, or else I might have to change the Hayden/Cullen/Geneviève story.

As for how old Hayden was when she left the Circle, it kind of depends which time you mean. Hayden left the Circle twice. Once when she found out she was pregnant, and then she gave birth to Geneviève, but she was found by the templars shortly after giving her up and made no effort to resist them taking her back, and then the second time when she was recruited by Duncan.

So she was 20 the first time when she escaped the Circle, and the second time she was 28.

Anders gets involved because he's Hayden's best friend in the Circle, one of the few who knows she was pregnant and is the one who convinces Hayden to escape with him (well, convinces Cullen to convince her really). He also escaped with her and delivered Geneviève. (I have a big headcanon for all of this and I plan to write it out when I have more time, so I'll leave it at that.)

As for Geneviève getting Anders spirit, I mean in the personality way x) She is like him in the way that she won't stray from her beliefs, and she won't compromise to reach her goals. And she is also very pro-mage freedom, because she knows the backside to the Chantry and the Circle.

Headcanon rantings about Cole + Mayim and Geneviève below.

Geneviéve's feelings towards Cole won't be romantic, but it also won't be any motherly feelings, because she's too young for that. Instead I'm seeing a older sister/younger brother relationship evolving between them, where she's protective of him when others might be hostile towards him. 

Mayim on the other hand might be conflicted about him. I headcanon her as a Circle mage and a widow. She was a mage in the White Spire and she was married to another mage (whose gender identity is not clear to me yet). But her spouse is depressed and hates being locked up in the Circle and wants to end their life, but lacks the courage to do it on their own, and thus meets Cole who helps them end their life. So naturally Mayim is suspicious of Cole if she knows what he did (though that is unlikely) and also because no one really knows what he is, but I definitely see her coming to care for him in the future.

I can pinpoint the exact time and place where Hayden fell in love with Cullen.

It was early morning when barely no one had gotten out of bed in the Circle yet, but she likes the calm and the quiet and the mornings are her favorite time of the day. Everything feels so peaceful and all the cares of yesterday are gone, at least for a little while.

She walks into the tower chapel, because the way the dawning sun creeps in through the painted windows takes her breath away. She expects to be alone, but at the front of the room, sitting at one of the benches in front of the altar is a young templar, softly reciting the Chant of Light under his breath. She is enchanted by his voice and moved by his devotion and adoration for the Maker. 

Of course she doesn't know it yet, but that is the exact moment that she falls hopelessly in love with him.

I just realized how horrible it must feel for Avani to have (in a way) onesided feelings for Fergus. She's trapped by her own feelings for him and being trapped is her worst fear.
