Textual analysis of Falling by Box Of Light.
The nearby church bells were doing their thing this morning and I got to thinking about my mom's favorite hymn, "I Was There to Hear Your Borning Cry." Now, I'm not a big fan of this song, but I would like to take a moment to point out the implied devil worship that appears at the end of the first verse and then is never mentioned again.
Given, the whole daemon thing is probably not literal, but I like to think that it is the parent's interpretation of some of their child's behaviors that they don't understand.
"You painted your nails BLACK?!""Yeah, I think it looks pretty neat. It goes with my red bracelet.""BLACK?!""...yes?""This is some DEVIL WORSHIPING CULT, isn't it?!""No. You're overreacting.""I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN!""Mom."
