ENGINEER: Widowmaker AND Pomson 6000 FROM A NOOB
Oh my God, I’ve only been playing for a few months--
Hi, It’s Stars here! Just to come in with two weapon reviews about Engie’s weapons. Two being The Widowmaker and The Pomson 6000. I wanted to record my gameplay using the two weapons but I ended up glaring down at a whole half an hour for the Widowmaker of me talking dumbly about the weapon before switching to Sniper, forgetting that it’s supposed to be an Engineer weapon review. Just remember that I’m like, not a god at this class, I’m very new to using these weapons
I hope you guys read this! Just know that I’m a noob and I’m still tinkering with my playstyle as an Engineer, especially having these two weapons! Anyways, let’s start off with a classic; Widowmaker.
THE WIDOWMAKER:
Usually my game style when using the Widowmaker consists of: Don’t let your Sentry get sapped, always look around for Spies and Snipers and always walk, sprint and crouch in no particular order to wave them off. Never trust Scouts that pass by you and always kill the Spy first before trying to even save your mini-sentry. It’s okay! Just murder the Spy because he’s much more of a threat than one less mini sentry. Punching the Spy and cornering them with a pistol would do well.
So basically:
Pistol + Gunslinger all over (Disguised) Spy divided by a Sapped Mini-Sentry= More chances of victory for the Engineer because dagnabbit I don’t have time for dying.
But you guys should do things the way you want it! :D
Pros:
The Widowmaker is good against a Pyro, Scouts, Spies and any class mid/close-range that doesn’t have 200 or buffed health.
Pairing it with a Mini-Sentry is very satisfying, especially if you decide to be a Battle Engie and pick off the opposite team when you’re defending one part all alone because the Demoman and Medic decided that the part where the opposite team is coming from can be fended off by one Engie with a Gunslinger but yanno, things happen.
It reloads when you hit your target! Which is why mid/long-ranged enemies are pretty useful.
It has a funny hit sound, hehe.
It’s usually up to six shots, which is pretty okay because it takes three to kill Pyros, two clean shots on Spies (and a few rounds of pistols for the Dead Ringer users).
NO RELOAD TIME. IT AUTOMATICALLY RELOADS.
Yeah, you can pick up metal ammos and then bam, you have 200 metal in your reserves once more!
Cons:
Sometimes you just have to rely on random crits?
The damage is rounded off so sometimes you don’t get the same amount of ammo that’s written down. Big sad.
I think it was LazyPurple that said this weapon will basically lobotomize you, haha.
It uses metal from your own metal reserves so if you’re in a tight situation with no ammo nor metal to spare, you’re kind of dead on the spot.
THE POMSON 6000:
I haven’t played it too much because I just got it recently. A few days ago type of recently. Yeah, but this is a pretty cool name, not gonna lie, and on paper, it’s a pretty neat thing to have. I pair it with the Southern Hospitality more than the Gunslinger, though it depends on the map. So I’ll speak my experience in Bloodwater. A payload map in this year’s Scream Fortress. I usually have the Wrangler ready just in case it’s needed to ward off enemy Snipers trying to get me. The Pomson, though? Eh, Spies or Medics to pick off to avoid Uber. So, here’s the blueprints:
Wrangler (or Pistol) + Pomson 6000 all over a Lvl. 2/3 Sentry + a secure spot to hide on all over an enemy team (preferably a Spy, some close encounter with a Scout or a Battle Medic that’s in the way of you and your metal and health ammo.) = You’ll still probably die a lot if your teammates don’t really care about you.
Pros:
If the enemy team has a Medic, please try to devour said Medic by saying goodbye to their Ubercharge.
Pyros can’t deflect this! So slap some promotional poster saying goodbye to that Pyro trying to disturb you from building/upgrading your sentry.
Funny Kill Icon. Yes this is very important.
Cool design.
High damage up-close. Could kill a Scout with two (or even one) shot. Finishes off Medics from behind. Can travel really far and can deal pretty good damage mid-range. (Though it doesn’t serve much for faraway targets)
The recharge time is really fast.
Requires no ammo, as stated above!
Say bye-bye when a Spy tries to cloak away, taking 20% off their cloak and that’s very important. Whack them with your Wrench too, preferably the Southern Hospitality so they’ll bleed.
Cons:
That -10% in attacking buildings is not much but I have to state it here.
Fast moving targets such as Scouts or even Spies could evade the shots easily since it’s so bright and basically says “Yo, look at me. I’m about to kill you.”
I can’t really add more yet since I just got it three days ago.
I hope you guys liked this review anyway! It might not help much but I hope that you still enjoyed. And this came from my personal experience so I encourage you to form your own opinions at the very least! :) I never knew that the Engineering class would be so much fun until now. He legit surpassed Scout and became my third most played class.
Have a nice day/night!
Our favourite Texan is done. 👏 Feedback, ideas and suggestions are always welcome. :) Available as a sticker! [RED Engineer] [BLU Engineer] ------------------------------------------- Stickers of Scout, Sniper and 2 versions of Spy are available in my [portfolio].
More engineer + baby!
Had an idea to make the tf2 mercs as the superheroes in the Avengers, but I'm too lazy to draw the rest of them.
One Engie sticker coming right up! Probably gonna do one more with Sentry after I finish this one.
Scout, Sniper and 2 versions of Spy stickers are available HERE. Both RED and BLU versions.
Just engineer's version
