Tears For Fears + 'The Beatles: Get Back' documentary
The Graham Norton Radio Show (27.02.2022): "I'm sure you've seen the new Beatles documentary 'Get Back'?" Roland asked Graham. "You're seeing these guys in their late twenties, who are finding it very difficult to be with each other. And so you can see them all wanting to explore the world and become an individual. That's exactly what happened with Curt and I - only there weren't any cameras filming..."
Sodajerker on songwriting podcast, episode 222 (28.02.2022): RO: We did it [The Tipping Point album] very quickly, it only took a few weeks, just went in there. I'm a bit like... you know... The Beatles documentary? I mean, I don't know how they took so long making that record, you know. CS: Watching The Beatles documentary was painful for me, because I just remember all those times just sitting there kind of like, 'Mhm. Nothing's kind of coming', you know. And it was just like, 'Oh my God, that is 95% of songwriting'. RO: But John Lennon's bass playing, didn't that make you feel good? CS: ... that... that... Thanks. That did make me feel slightly better, yes. Int.: It's pretty bad, isn't it, on 'Long and Winding Road'? RO: Oh my God! Int.: Who was it, Bri, who said it amounted to sabotage? Int.2: Oh, it's Ian MacDonald in 'Revolution in the Head'. Yeah. RO: Yeah, that's what I was thinking. CS: I just ended up feeling so bad for George Harrison through most of it. Int.: Poor George.
Here’s The Thing with Alec Baldwin podcast (29.11.2022): CS: I couldn't watch it. Um... It was interesting. Roland watched the whole thing. I watched 40 minutes. AB: And why? CS: It brought back too many bad memories. I was like, 'I've been there. I fucking hated it'. And it's just, you know... because McCartney was Roland at that point in time. And, you know, and I... and I was... actually, to be honest, I think I was probably more George. I don't know. But it was that kind of, you know, someone is just getting a bit too big. 'Cause in my opinion, you know, and again, based on the first 40 minutes I watched, although it may have been necessary because someone had to be the driving force, I guess. AB: Once Epstein died, indeed, someone had to be. CS: Yeah. AB: There was a vacuum there. CS: Yeah. And then also, I think, weirdly, at the age they were then, I think was the age pretty much we were when we split up. So I can relate. And again, it brought back bad memories.
