TFI Press & Buyers Tradeshow Oct 21-22, 2015
World MasterCard Fashion Week (WMCFW) may be over but the line-up of amazing participants at this season’s TFI’s Press and Buyers Brunch Trade-show (TFIPBB) has buyers and media talking. Twice a year the team at Toronto Fashion Incubator (TFI) puts together an unparalleled Canadian boutique style event featuring some of today’s most innovative designers in apparel and accessories.
On October 21st and 22nd Canada’s biggest names in fashion, media and buying attended the two-day event in The Studio at David Pecaut Square. Designers met and networked with over 135 attendees. Notable guests included: Dina Pugliese, host, Breakfast Television; Naomi Snieckus, Mr D, CBC; Saks Fifth Avenue; Hudson’s Bay Company; Elle Quebec, Global News; FLARE; The Kit; Sporting Life; Sash and Bustle; Shopgirls; and Three Fates Shop to name a few.
In addition, exclusive fashion showroom The Stylist Box returned for its second TFIPBB to present one of the event participants with the “Designer of the Season Award”. Winner Miriam Baker received 6-months free representation in The Stylist Box. Baker receives over $4,000 worth of services with an expected $72,000 worth of exposure over the course of the six-month term.
"Miriam Baker is an emerging womens-wear brand we feel is deserving of additional exposure," says merchandising director and co-founder Christian Dare. "With our help, we hope to see her in the pages of national publications on a regular basis and to build her celebrity clientèle," says communications director and co-founder Gail McInnes.
