The world is not a wish-granting factor.
Augustus Waters (The Fault in Our Stars by John Green)
every John Green book ever
the main character is an introverted, intelligent, woke af teenager who has very depressing views on life.
Their best friend is very exotic and outgoing, basically the opposite of the main character. This causes both the main character and the reader to wonder why such a bold character is hanging out with such a dweeb. The best friend is literally the only interesting thing in the main characters life.
The main character’s lover is the only character in the entire novel that is an intelligent as or close to the level of intelligence of the main character. They’re basically the main character as the opposite gender and like, not a loser.
The plot consists of the main character goes on a random journey for a even more random reason. During the journey, cool things happen and the character has no idea how to react. This journey and with the help of their lover and/or their best friend, the main character stops having depressing views on life. They go from very depressing, to only slightly depressing. the end.
I hate when people books for me it's not OK like my Friends spoil the fault in our stars for me and I'm so mad because they were like oh Augustus dies at the end and I was like really oh my god so what I was reading it I was kind a like oh I know what's going to happen but it was so sad you know! #pjo #spn #tmi #tvd #tfois #hg #hp
Paper towns was AWESOME!
My dad agreed to take me to a film I wanted to watch which happened to be Paper Towns. He mocked it all the time until we actually saw it. Then he was like “I liked how it wasn’t just a love film” -_- Me and my sister have both explained to him that John Green doesn’t do just love stories. However this reminds me of how last year when my sister said she really wanted to see TFIOS he thought it was just another chick flick film so we had to inform him that it was much more and involved cancer.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!! SPOILER STATUS: MINOR?
Ok! So I don’t want to say everything I loved about the film because that is too much but basically I loved the bit where the guys are singing the pokemon theme tune. I immediately started laughing because it was the geekiest thing ever. Cut halfway through to where they shout “POKEMON!” Everyone else in the cinema starts laughing. That disappointed me slightly how do you not know the pokemon theme?! You had deprived childhoods people. XD
Thank you so much John Green!
I'm in Bali right now and look who decided to show up at a local bookstore! fishingboatproceeds
yo i kind of ship you with Augustus Waters and i don't know why its the weirdest thing
I mean I am totally okay with that. At least he didn’t waste his dying wish on Disneyland.
even though i just finished looking for alaska, read tfios, and have 2 more john green books to read, i do not like the way how he pursues his audience to romanticize his stories via tumblr, we heart it, ect. i think its disgusting and he needs to let out to his very young audience what theyre doing can hurt peoples feelings. its a whole marketing plod that i wont fall into because im smarter than that, but i find it gross.
