To add on to my previous post about TGitS, a lot of criticism comes because people want a cold and almost robotic version of the Major and instead we got a more manga accurate:

To be clear I love all the adaptations of the Major and personally relate to each differently.

Major Diagnostic

New Ghost in the Shell is pretty good

so if you've seen all the other Ghost in the Shell media, The Ghost in the Shell (2026) (emphasis on "The") is really just more of the same. Except Makoto's hair is light blue now. Honestly i think that's what fans of the series want
