In TGre ch. 85 the checker board turned completely white.
Now we have ch. 86 titled White Rainbow.
This is another reference to how things are turning from black&white to completely white. We’re going from Monochrome Rainbow to White Rainbow.

19 year old Arima's ass isn't as plump as current Arima's.
Young Arima looks so goooooooooooooooOOOOOOOooooood!!!!
He’s that one high school/freshmen/college guy that everyone wanted to date/take to the prom/party.
and he’s like…
*smirk*
let's talk about how emotionally and psychologically altered I became after ch 86
Revolutions and Kings
Revolution is a forceful overthrow of a government or social order in favor of a different one. There are two different types of Revolutions there are the extremely common ones where revolution is achieved through violence and wars. Then there are Revolutions that are achieved through peaceful protest fighting for civil rights until someone in power can help them.
The two characters who built the throne for the One-Eyed King are two character who had some of the more harsh upbringings in different ways. Eto was born in 24th ward where she had to fight to survive from a young age and grew up extremely bitter because of it. Arima who was born in breeding project for an unknown purpose raised to kill ghouls who in many ways made up a major part of his DNA. Both of them grew up in a way in which a peaceful revolution seemed so out of reach, which makes this scene between Arima and Eto make so much sense.
I think what makes this panel so confusing on Arima’s part is that in chapter 83 he admited to hating violence and killing. So why was he all for Eto’s plans for revolution, he didn’t know better, he was brought up but an organization who’s whole purpose was to squash a ghoul rebellion in the 1800′s. He thought it was great because at least someone was trying to make the change he wanted to see. So, Arima let Eto in her own words “Fuck up this already shit world and facotry reset it”, I feel like Eto’s and Arima’s partnership was Arima let Eto do what she needed to fuck shit over for the revolution, but stopped her in little ways when she goes to far, because Arima with the exception of Etovs. Kaneki in the Exterminate Tsukiyama operation arc, were Eto was testing him for the One-Eyed King. What they did in many ways was wrong, but it something that is common in the real world, something that seems to be a necessary evil to them.
Yet, look at who they chose for there new One-Eyed King, they picked Kaneki, someone who is a lot like them. Kaneki grew up with a violent mother, Kaneki was bitter towards her in the deepest parts of his mind which he discovered when Yamori tortured him, and Arima stabbed Kaneki through the head. But, unlike Eto, he learned from the bitterness instead of being consumed from it. Kaneki as selfish as he thinks his actions were, he still tried his hardest to be kind, forgive, and he is a genuinely good person. Kaneki for a majority of his life lived by the mantra “Rather than a person who hurts others, become the person getting hurt”. Kaneki has always been a talk first kind of person, remember when he fought Amon and got hit just to talk to Amon and implant seeds of doubt about ghouls in him, a man who was all about justice. Kaneki is not like Eto and Arima, Kaneki has always tried to settle things with his words first then actions later; whereas Eto uses her words and actions to hurt others, and Arima uses his to hurt others against his will.
Now, here is why I find this whole, revolution so interesting if we go by Eto’s plan, she already fucked this world up with Aogiri and how much damage they have done to the world. Yet, I feel like these last few weeks in the manga, and I mean week like inside the story her “Factory reset” has already begun and it started with The Kings Bileygr. This is because of all the shit that has gone down humans are now defending the rights of ghouls
Investigators are questioning their superiors and friends
I think if anything the One-Eyed Kings job after what Eto and Arima started is probably to settle the world after this in many ways be the engineer of the new world.
Yet, it won’t be a peaceful thing, I mean this revolution is very grey it is violent, it started out violent, but after Eto’s book in some ways it has become peaceful as their are humans fighting for ghoul rights, like I said earlier. However, the fixing and breaking the cage is not an easy thing, their are a lot of characters still unaccounted for, characters like Furuta, the clowns, Kanou, and Washuu’s whose motives are still unknown. This is in many ways the beginning of a power struggle to see who can rebuild the tower as soon as it falls.
Yet, I think in many ways Kaneki being the One-Eyed King in all of this will be an amazing way to see his development and if he has learned from Mistakes. As this whole story has been about ghouls, but also Kaneki trying to find himself, which I feel like he did this arc. I feel like the arcs after this will be a real testement of who Kaneki really is faults and all, because Kaneki is going to be the deciding factor in the future for a lot of people. Yet, in many ways he the best he has been the human, he has been the ghoul playing human, he has been a ghoul who has terrorized others, he has been an investigator, he dipped his feet into a lot of waters.
The only thing that I wished for is that he wasn’t emotionally manipulated into the role. I mean Eto did give him the option to opt out of being the king, but here is the thing Arima in so many words asked him to do it, he might not have meant to force him into it but he did. I will admit Kaneki before this had wanted Ghouls and Humans to get along, but he was more concerned with protecting his friends then making a difference, besides his encounters with Amon. Yet, because Kaneki loved Arima so much, he felt the need to take the title for himself. I feel like Kaneki does have a want for change, I feel like that’s why ore and boku were used together. However, I think that the fact that as much as Kaneki is in a better state mentally, he is still grieving over the loss of someone who was a huge influence on his life, which is why he said yes.
This is me trying to put my thoughts together after the chapter and try to connect the dotes. All I know is that I’m extremely scared and excited for whats to come next. But, these are jut my thoughts and you are welcomed to disagree with me.
