“i’m off the clock!” her words came out muffled, head still buried in her arms. body stretched out along the lounge chair. positioned just right to catch the last bit of sun. work had been a level of hell she hadn’t expected, and by the time she finally managed to leave her office tati had been on the verge of tears. so she’d come home and done the only thing she knew how to do. get drunk. staying in her apartment just long enough to change into a swimsuit and grab a handful of tiny, airplane sized whiskey bottles before heading down to her building’s pool. most of them were empty now, scattered around her. “unless you’ve come to carry me back upstairs or offer to buy me dinner, please just… leave me alone.” her head lifts then, a fresh wave of tears threatening to spill as her gaze lands on them.
