Thaabangale ('96, 2018)
Is a beautiful song describing the yearnings and comfort of love. All songs in the film touch your heart's strings but this one has a sweet melancholy to it. The awareness the two lovers have of the helpless state they are in despite the knowledge of their deeper connection unsettles me.
And since IPK has ruined every other love story for me, I always have Arshi in front of my eyes as I listen to each heart-breaking line of the songs. I mean, look at these lines :
Is the love just dreams?
Am I unending journey? Is it not enough?
Is the time a question?
Enough... my heart melts and getting dissolved to come near you
Funfact: I wonder if Arshi would have been in a very similar situation as the leads of this film if Arnav let his past hurt more than his heart yearned for Khushi on their wedding day/came back to painfully suggest they don't proceed with their relationship since he can't separate his past and present with her in his life.
Nonetheless, all songs perfectly capture their spark and this one in general is a 💎 so I did what I generally do and wrote Telugu(my mother tongue) lyrics to Thaabangale with Arshi in mind. They kinda match the movie and Arshi both. Do listen to the original if you haven't and let me know of your thoughts 💭😊
Thaabangale - (Teluguvised 😂)
Her:
Him :
Her :
