speaks fluent mermish, as her father did research on them all her life and often brought her along
loves to be in the water all the time. She has dived to the Slytherin windows before and fuelled the rumors about Merfolk showing up there

Pureblood obsessed, arrogant and not very bright, but capable of appearing charming when neccessary
was trying to make friends with Ominis due to his family's influence, but Ominis was less than excited about that
absolutley a follower, which is why he clings to the lead of Thaddeus Nott
Henri Abbott
5th year student, Hufflepuff Quidditch Captain, Beater
ESTP
loud and self-assured, but lacking social skills. Won't know what to do once he's no longer in familiar circumstances
Him and Phineas are practically inseperable
strong rivalry with Imelda
is the cause for the injury that made Black cancel Quidditch
writes countless letters to Black and the ministry to try and get Quidditch back. None of them are read
will annoy the hell out of Phineas because "Surely you can make your dad see sense!"

Frenemies with Everett. Both will act annoyed at the other, but constantly seek out each others company. Everett is Quidditch commentator and keeps making fun of Henris mistakes on the field. Henri has send bludgers his way for that many times

Thaddeus is another fifth year and Adrian's best friend
He absolutely believes in pureblood superiority and has been clashing with Seb for that reason since their first day
Him and MC meet during their second week of school when he tries to steal the kneezle hair. It's mutual hatred from the start.
When Lyra (my MC) meets Sebastian in front of the Slytherin common room, Thaddeus makes a comment how a mudblood has no place there. Sebastian nearly hexes him
Phineas Black II
Technically not an OC, as Professor Black's children already existed, but I fleshed him out
He's a Hufflepuff, which is the reason he started to question his family's ways
Practically grew up with Ominis, but they were never really friends as Ominis never felt comfortable with the whole pureblood/dark arts stance (thanks to Noctua's influence) while Phineas used to fully believe in his parent's stance. They're starting to grow a bit closer in their sixth year
While the Gaunts believe all muggleborns must be eliminated, his parents are less radical in their ideas. They think they're better because of their blood status and look down on muggleborns and half bloods, but are perfectly capable of tolerating them. While Mr Gaunt encourages Black to make the ministry change things, Black just wants to have a comfortable job and doesn't put much effort in actually changing things
He's well liked among other students as he has a surprisingly warm and welcoming personality
close with Anya as he's one of the few people not bugging her about her love life
Can't stand Lenora Everleigh, as she keeps musing about how much better she would have fit in other houses. He's a Hufflepuff with pride
Beater in the Quidditch team and very angry with his father for cancelling it

acting like nothing ever reaches her, but in reality super insecure
Her family got attacked by werwolves when she was 12 & her parents were killed. She was bitten and therefore abandoned by her remaining relatives. It was her headmistress that stood up for her so she could remain at school. She's got a room in a tower where she is put in nights of the full moon when she turns into a werewolf
honest and putting a lot of pride in reaching goals herself. She doesn't want help and she won't cheat. That makes the Triwizard Tournament a lot harder for her, since her fellow competitors (Sebastian & Aneth) are absolutely trying to learn what they'll be up against in each round before they're told
Hektor Orlov:

New villain? New villain!
arrogant and hellbent on winning the Triwizard Tournament. He gets really pissed when Rumiana is chosen as champion, but decides to "help her"
can see Ancient Magic and sees Lyra using it, which sparks his interest. He tries to get close to her, but something feels off to her. When he can't charm her, he resorts to manipulation and later, force
starts to suspect that there is a source of strong magic hidden somewhere around Hogwarts and makes it his mission to find it
tries to frame Sebastian to get him out off the way both in the Tournament and as a romantic rival by using Imperio to make him torture Aneth
Gets stopped in his tracks with the help of Rumiana, but manages to flee and remains a constant worry in Lyra's life

chubbier than depicted here. He just loves all the good food France has to offer

wants to win the Tournament so he can put the money in his research on long term curse effects
knows Sebastian's story through Anne, but still doesn't believe for one second Seb hurt him voluntarily. He sees his behaviour change in seconds

Garreth's sisters
Elisabeth is three years older than Garreth. She studies Ancient Runes and travels a lot for that
Maggie is eight years younger than Garreth and desperately waiting for her turn to go to Hogwarts. She adores her older brother and would do anything to get his attention
The youngest is 14 years younger Muriel (yes, that Muriel). She's quite susceptible to mood swings, but that's okay as she's still a baby
The Gaunts

Medius & Calliope Gaunt
Medius is Noctua's older brother and current patriarch of the Gaunt family
The Gaunt's family fortune is long gone due to the family's wastefulness, but Medius married rich to hold up a certain status
His wife Calliope (neé Carrow) brought quite a dowry into the marriage. However a mixture of lavishness and bribery is eating all of it away very quickly
While their marriage certainly wasn't one of love, they share their bigoted worldview, that sees muggles as nothing more than animals existing purely for their entertainment. They love having power over others and see no problem abusing it
Medius went to Hogwarts with Black and supported him becoming headmaster. He now tries to get rid of all muggleborns in Hogwarts with his help. Black would rather just chill in his office all day and so makes some token, half hearted efforts that avail to nothing
While Medius sees his children primarily as a way to ensure the Gaunt legacy is carried on, Calliope actually loves them, even if she shows it in the worst way
Medius was the one to cast the Cruciatus on Ominis. He is also the one that constantly holds him up as his heir and strangely enough, favourite child
Marvolo & Meredith
You know Marvolo. Hot-headed, short-tempered, arrogant and cruel. Especially lacking the ability to at least appear like a decent human being. That's why he is not Daddy's favourite, despite being the oldest (six years older than Ominis)
Meredith is five years younger than Ominis. She, like Marvolo, is utterly indoctrinated, but when it's her turn to torture muggles, she is deeply disturbed. She still desperately holds on to her family's values, as Noctua isn't there anymore and Ominis doesn't know how to get through to her
When Ominis comes clean, gets disowned and turns his back on his family, she is devastated. She loved her brother dearly, even after he began to shut her out after the Cruciatus incident and stopped coming home during vacations. Him betraying the family like that is a huge blow
Left on her own, when she is fifteen she develops a crush on a cute Ravenclaw guy. They go out a few times, share their first kiss. He is a muggleborn. When she finds out, she is shook to her core. Unable to admit to herself that everything she was taught is wrong and not wanting to be another disappointment for her parents, she ends her own life
Ominis learns of her death through Phineas Black II and is utterly devastated, feeling incredibly guilty for leaving her behind
After her death, Marvolo is the only possible heir. He gets married very quickly and after his father's death, he loses all of the family money left before Morfin is even born, forcing him to sell the family estate and move into a cabin near Little Hangleton with his family
His wife dies shortly after the birth of Merope. We all know how it goes from here
