The Thallax cohorts of the Ordo Reductor are hulking biomechanical terrors - relics from mankind’s Dark Age of Technology. Differing from the Skitarii regiments of the broader Mechanicus in the scale and cruelty of their augmentation, each Thallax undergoes a medical procedure that encases their brain, major organs, and nervous system in an exoskeleton known as the Lorica Thallax. This procedure is agonizing, requiring the excision of the areas of the brain that regulate pain and emotions lest the subject go mad from the experience. While inhumane, the result is a fearless, remorseless shock-trooper that retains a degree of independence and self-determination.

Another Thallax Cohort Unit Completed

Things are still coming along nicely with my Mechanicum Taghmata army. I’ve now finished another unit of Thallax, leaving just the Domitar (which I will be starting work on today) and another unit of Thallax to complete.

Mechanicum Thallax Cohort

Here is my first completed Thallax unit for my Horus Heresy Mechanicum Taghmata army. I’m pleased with how they look together and think it is a stronger look as a unit than individual miniatures.

Doing the edge highlighting with Runefang Steel on all of the distressed, rusty metal is proving to be quite tiresome, but as long as I keep getting these results it will all be worth it.
