Thallenweek day one : Back to school
Eddie Thawne was new to Central City, New to Central City high school and being the new kid always resorted to him being cast out and people not wanting to be friends unless said new kid was someone that the kids liked, either beautiful, hot, rich bad boy.
Eddie was rich. But even then that didn’t even give him the comfort of being out of eye shot of the mean kids. The bullies. Maybe it had to do with the fact that despite he was rich he was also chubby and he was trying his hardest to lose the weight. Being eighteen and chubby and rich and the senators son didn’t mesh well with the other kids.
He kept his head down, not speaking to anyone. Not engaging in conversation even if they directed taunts to him. He made sure to stay as invisible as he could.
That is until Barry Allen, the schools golden boy had decided that he was interested in him.
“Go out with me. Would it be that bad if you did?” Barry asked. They were sitting in study hall, Eddie sitting in the back reading his chemistry book and he hadn’t noticed when Barry had gotten up and walked over to him, his friends watching with hawk like eyes as he dropped into the seat next to him.
Eddie didn’t respond. He didn’t even look up. And that made Barry smile a little. He took the book, closed and moved his hand so that he was cupping Eddie’s face. They were looking directly at each other.
“I can have you arrested for this.” Eddie said. “My dad doesn’t like people touching me.” He slapped his hand down. “Especially people like you.”
“People like me? People who’s willing to talk to you? Speak with you? I like you Eddie. Why can’t you see that?”
“And why do you like me? I’m not exactly winning any beauty contest here and I’m not exactly your type.”
“And what’s my type? Huh? You don’t know that.”
Eddie snorted. “Beautiful. Not exactly bright. That’s your type. Not me. Now if you don’t mind. I’m trying to study.”
Barry sighed. But he got up. “Fine. But this isn’t over. I will ask again and I think next time you’ll say yes.”
“Don’t be so sure.”

Each time that Eddie ran into Barry he wore that stupid smile and carried a rose with him, handing it to Eddie who tossed it into the trash. Not playing into the little game that Barry was playing.
“One chance Eddie. That’s all I want. Please.” Eddie read the message. He was actually feeling a bit sad for Barry now. He didn’t know the game but he wasn’t going to buy into it. Yet he did want Barry to leave him alone.
“One date.” Eddie sent back. “And if this is some joke. If I’m some joke to you and your friends my dad will know about it.”
Seconds later a message came back, a smiley face.
“it’s not. Trust me.”
