So I've been thinking about Thane Mass Effect for a second and just got through watching a video on certain psychedelics, and with a bit of Google I don't think it's a far stretch to say that the venom that Drell are instilled with, that Mordin warned Shepard about, is 5-MEO-DMT. Otherwise known as the God Molecule, naturally occurring in - you guessed it! Frogs. No wonder he fucking warned us. It's highly unpredictable and the determining factor between a good trip and very nearly dying (or actually dying) is a coin flip, and lasts twice as long as standard DMT.
