I am soooo behind!!
1092. Catching Fire's midnight premier. Not only was it a good movie, but I can now say that I've been to a midnight premier...and never do it again. I was such a zombie the next day!
1093. Adventures to the mountains with my boy to celebrate our anniversary. It's so fun to get away and have an adventure every once in a while and I am so thankful that we do it!
1094. Hot springs. hot springs. hot springs.
1095. My "sisters" coming out to spend Thanksgiving with us. It was a week filled with laughter and silliness and it's always so good to see them! It's amazing to think that we have known each other our whole lives- we could reference things that happened ten years ago and all four of us would know what we were talking about.
1096. My orchid is starting to bud...I kept a plant alive for a whole summer to its next life cycle! I don't have a black thumb after all.
1097. Having a Christmas tree in my apartment. It's so cheery and makes my tummy flutter with happiness when it's all lit up!
1098. This is my last week nannying. Ever. Hallelujah!
1099. Being given a new job just when I needed it, I'm so excited to start and to be able to help students transfer into college life!
1100. Roses from my boy.
1101. And carnations.
1102. And having a vase of both at the same time.
1103. Help Christmas shopping for my dad and my brother. It's good to have a guy to consult with.
1104. Costco sized snacks.
1105. Gluten free donuts to have while my roomies have their homemade ones. It's good that I still have options!
1106. God provides when we need things.
1107. I have a low-key finals week!
1108. Cathy coming to see me on her way back from WY...it was so nice to have someone come visit me instead of the other way around!
1109. Getting blood tests for food allergies- even if I have to wait another week for the results it's good to know it's in the works.
1110. Going to see the Hobbit. Even though there was some random things in there that had nothing to do with anything, I still enjoyed it!
thankful things
1072. spending 30 minutes in front of the OPI nail polish with Andi...that girl speaks my language
1073. good friends that will talk with you late into the night
1074. dreading going to church by myself only to find that God provided someone to sit with
1075. my boy sneaking up on me, such a wonderful surprise to have him home a few hours sooner!
1076. gluten and dairy free homemade pizza
1077. ^actually liking said pizza
1078. going for coffee on Friday night
1079. Downton Abbey's fourth season is out!
1080. finding a new crochet pattern for warm headbands that are fashionably acceptable
1081. making four of those in a weekend (instead of doing homework)
1082. my cousin's engagement
1083. being released from the fear that held me captive the last week and a half
1084. the peace that Christ brings when we finally let things go.
1085. encouraging e-mails from a dear friend
1086. having many many things to look forward to in the next week!
1087. my stint as a nanny is nearly over for good
1088. learning new aspects of history
1089. having gluten free/dairy free/allergy ridden friends...it's not a good thing that they are but it is very nice to have people who understand what it is to not get the cookies at small group!
1090. buying midnight tickets to see Catching Fire
1091. sitting with Sara on the couch and procrastinating together
thankful things
1061. gluten free pizza crust
1062. THERE IS DAIRY FREE EGG NOG. It exists, and I’m going to enjoy every minute of it :)
1063. grocery shopping with Sara
1064. draping Christmas lights all over the apartment. We start Christmas early here
1065. hot water bottles
1066. chiropractors
1067. mind twisting small group
1068. not getting the flu
1069. my god-sisters are coming out for Thanksgiving…it’s gonna be a party!
1070. pictures in school assigned books
1071. learning the basics on how to change a car’s oil
thankful things
1046. Peppermint tea and honey 1047. Beef stew on a cold day 1048. Watching Grey's Anatomy with Sara during our off hour 1049. A 100% on a Spanish midterm! Boo yah! 1050. Going on a drive in the rain only to have it turn into snow with my boy 1051. Pink Carnations 1052. Chick-fil-A has gluten free grilled chicken nuggets (so are the waffle fries!!). Yet another reason to love them! 1053. Chips and salsa 1054. Reading in the bathtub never, ever gets old 1055. Going home this weekend 1056. Making it through midterms successfully and alive 1057. Conversations with old friends that last until 1 AM 1058. My little bro just got his driver's permit...how did we all get so old? 1059. Fuzzy socks 1060. I got a new fish last week. His name is Bruce (after the shark) and I am so happy to have something to take of!
thankful things.
1021. Pumpkin bread. It tastes like leaves turning and jumping into leaf piles and sweaters and socks and almost-Christmas-ness.
1022. I found gluten-free bread crumbs at the store and made fried chicken. Probably one of the best meals I’ve had yet! 1023. Asparagus. 1024. Having an electric blanket…I take the transition from warm to cold very badly and the blanket helps me cope. Props to my little bro for getting it for me! 1025. In about 20 minutes I get to FaceTime with one of my best friends- I love that lady to death. 1026. Peppermint tea to soothe my tummy. 1027. Cuddles that make me fall asleep (found the cure for insomnia!). 1028. Starting new crafts. 1029. Finding out you have less credits left to get your degree that you thought- no summer classes this year! 1030. Taking crazy dog on walks. Luckily I’m not the one that has to hold his leash. 1031. Watching the Broncos very narrowly win with couple friends. 1032. My boyfriend bringing me gluten-free donuts just because. 1033. Forgetting about said donuts until Monday afternoon- I got excited all over again! 1034. Recognizing the difference between thinking about something legally vs. politically…yay learning! 1035. I’m starting to actually enjoy books that I’m required to read for history. 1036. Hot tubs. ‘Nuff said. 1037. My (big) small group. Although I didn’t mind not having it tonight, I am so glad I stuck with it even though the vast quantity of young women intimidated me at first- I feel like there is such a vast opportunity for growth! 1038. Texting my sister in Mean Girls quotes for twelve hours. 1039. Starting a book for fun. 1040. Getting off of Pinterest for a week. I love that website to death but I had realized how much of a time-suck it was. Last week I had time to start a book, spend time with my favorite people, finish homework early, make more cooked dinners than normal…just…time. It was nice. The trick will be to keep it in check now that I’m back on it! 1041. Breaking Bad. Now that I’m past the nasty crazy stressful first few episodes, it’s pretty intriguing. The moral, social, and legal qualms within all of it are so brilliant. Even though half the time I have to watch something happy right after it, I would consider watching all of it. 1042. The trees turning orange. It’s so beautiful! 1043. New eyeshadow pallets. That wasn’t a waste of money- I can do so many different combinations and they all look great! 1044. Yummy-smelling candles. 1045. God is good. God is faithful. God has a plan.

During 2012, I read Ann Voskamp's One Thousand Gifts, and wrote my own list of 1000. The result of such a list and making the choice to constantly notice the small things God had blessed me with was and is a life filled with joy. I realized after getting to 1000 is that I'll never be done with my list...so here it continues...
1001. Church today was completely dead-on with what God is working on in me right now.
1002. My fulfillment and worth is found in Christ and that is all that matters in the end.
1003. I got to go to church with my friend Lexie! She is such a sweetheart.
1004. Listening to JJ Heller while getting ready for church.
1005. The odd things I come up with in dreams...last night I dreamed I had a camel the size of a great dane but it lived in the apartment with me.
1006. I love it when Sara makes espresso and I get the leftovers for iced lattes.
1007. Someone donated a vacuum to us! Clean floors are lovely things. :)
1008. Reading more of Captivating right after I woke up. I love books that are able to show you truth in ways you hadn't thought of it before.
1009. After I got home from church, I had an invitation to go to the free day at the Denver Museum of nature and science!
1010. I was able to make it to Brighton in time to carpool with friends.
1011. Our bodies are seriously so cool. Even when they don't function exactly the way they're supposed to, they're still cool.
1012. Nate won the game of "who can calm their brains down first (who knows what it's really called)" in the Hall of Life...I am glad I'm with a guy who is calmer than I am!
1013. I have a clean room and bathroom right now. It feels so good.
1014. I feel so lazy saying this, but I love that my church has an 11:00 service so I can sleep a little later on Sundays.
1015. I am off of my awful seizure pills for the hiccups! I am so relieved to be done and over with those- they were both scary and annoying to take when I don't have seizures in the first place.
1016. I bought Well Fed yesterday (a Paleo cookbook) and the stuff in there actually looks good! Since it looks like I'll be on dietary restrictions for awhile (it looks like the hiccups were/are due to digestive issues) I need to buckle down and actually start cooking.
1017. Translation is really interesting. Difficult, but I'm learning so much!
1018. I had a salad with fruit in it and raspberry vinaigrette yesterday- and I liked it. Who knew?
1019. Nate and I are so blessed to have mentors at church who will buy us dinner and provide fellowship and guidance. Especially if they'll take us to Larkburger.
1020. I like my roommates. They are watching Enchanted right now and it's making my heart happy. (Giselle is my Disney Princess haha!)
Thankful Things Thursday...
-Getting mail - real mail, not junk mail or bill mail but actually letters from friends. It was the best card from my best friend... it was also shocking to realize that I've known her close to 17 years! -Coffee. Can this have a permanent spot on this list. It truly makes me happy every single day. And the guys in the coffee shop across the street have taken to having it ready for me pretty much as I walk in the door. Happy! -Rocking unassisted pull-ups and toes to bar. I'm happy with the progress I've made over the last few months. I'm also excited to have finally gotten my first full depth unassisted dip. -Knowing when to step back a bit. I'm taking another 4 days off from crossfit for a number of reasons but I like the fact that I'm in tune with my body and mind to know when I need this and to not feel guilty for doing it. -Massages. Going in a few hours for a well earned and much needed massage. Not only will I be resting my body but I'll be caring for it too. -Being happy. Just this. It sounds so simplistic and trite but I'm truly happy with who I am and where I am at. I say this having come from such a long period of my life where I was more often than not unhappy. I'm not by any means saying things are perfect (hello silly boy) but I find that I can deal with unexpected situations or things that don't go my way with some grace and understanding better than I could and I can accept that ultimately it will all work out just as it needs to (it got me this far so it has to be true).
