When you get all springtime cute and end up drown rat chic on the subway home. #thanksnyc #teacherlife #gradschoolproblems #exhausted
CircusAid has not posted much news lately. I’ve been a little distracted with the state of the country I currently reside in and felt somewhat conflicted about how to divide my energy among the many social justice issues we will see in 2017. I’ve spent the last couple months seeing a lot of art. All different kinds. I am more convinced than ever that artistic expression is the most effective form of activism to promote freedom and human rights. CircusAid is very excited to be partnering with Paul Cooley in 2017 for our next series of Circus for Social Change projects at refugee camps in Europe. I met Paul at Art Basel in Miami this past December and was quite taken by the positivity, accessibility, and humility paralleled in his art work and character. Check out Paul's work here...

I believe the work Paul will create of the refugee experience will be an effective means of documentation while protecting the anonymity of the vulnerable persons we will be working with as many of you know that was an issue in our last residency in Calais. More Love and peace for us all in 2017.
