Hello! We are back!
This blog is a way for all the fans of BBC Sherlock to express their love for the show and appreciation for the people that make it. We have been away for a while but in anticipation of series four, wanted to bring it back!
So what can you do? Send us an ask or submission telling us why you love the show or the people who make it (make sure to read the faq first!) and we will share it!
In a few weeks we are going to try and share the blog with the people who make the show as a way to show them our gratitude for what they create.
So send us your submissions, we are so looking forward to hearing why this show is so special to so many people!
Thank you!
I love Sherlock because it's a form of escapism like no other - I can be transported into this colourful, wild universe and stay there for 90 glorious minutes before having to come back to the real world.
Thank you, bbc sherlock, for so much fun and interesting discussions (and, yes, a little heartbreak as well). I made some really amazing new friends in this fandom.
This show is such an amazing piece of art that almost any detective series now appears to me as a poor parody. Every part of it is so well-balanced, never too much or too little, and that's what makes it beautiful.
.
I love BBC Sherlock because it is so rewatchable. I’ve seen each episode at least 10 times and I enjoy it just as much, if not more, than the first time. There is always something new to catch or notice.
Allowing Greatness
The human being is capable of greatness. Although some humans prefer to live a dull and unchallenged life, the genius of their minds do not cease to exist. Rather, these minds drive themselves crazy with an incessant banter reacting to the insignificant trivialities of life slowly pushing these individuals further and further away from their dreams.
Humans fear greatness. Humans fear being brilliant and find excuses to not follow their dreams and achieve their fullest potential.
I say this not out of spite, but with admittance that I too feared my own greatness for the longest time. Not willingly, of course. It was something I learned from my parents, from society. That genius- the complete cultivation and expression of our talents and intellect does not always ensure a stable and comfortable life. So, even though we may aspire to cultivate our passions to our fullest potential, sometimes this aspiration is pushed aside for a life of security and safety.
Yet with every dance I choreograph, every story I write, every city I travel, I realize that a fool I was to think that for a moment I may want a life other than one which is adventures, courageous and fulfilling to me. To ALL of me.
Fortunately for me- my memories of the days when my father was a scientist- brimming with a passion for academia, ambition and therefore beautiful- are still intact. I also remember how his lustrous eyes began to wither away to stress when he left academia, when he left his passion to work a job for the sake of financial stability. I lost my father to a stranger that year.
This transition of my father from what he loved to what he thought he had to do is as fresh in my mind as this cool water is on my tongue as I casually sip it right now. Successful in what he does, every now and then, my father occasionally tries to encourage me to put aside the artistic dreams and pursue a conventional career and lifestyle. But his eyes betray his true feelings. His eyes tell me- never give up.
Therefore I refuse to thread the path of boredom. A path where I dull my creative passions to pursue something which belittles my greatness. With my head held high (my dance teacher would be proud), I place one hand on my hip and one on my heart. I create for myself a life worthy of living. The life of my dreams.
Note: This reflection was inspired after reading the original Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Canon Doyle and binge watching BBC Sherlock the past few days. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
Hello! I just discovered your blog and I think it's absolutely fabulous. I don't know if you've heard of this blog but basically we've created this as a way to get positive messages about Sherlock and the people who make it out (and the blog url has been attached to a huge bunch of flowers sent to Hartwood studios so they're hopefully gonna see it). If you could maybe get the word out about it that would be amazing because I love your similar message to spread positivity :D x
Hello! Thank you so much, darling. You’re blog is wonderful, and I love what you’re doing for the fandom. It’s so nice to see people sharing their love for Sherlock. (and I certainly hope they see the flowers too!)
~~~Now then, everyone go follow and submit your love~~~
