Heart of the North by attaining

Theon's plan to lead the Bolton hunting party away from Sansa works. Theon is found barely alive in the Winterfell dungeons after the Battle of the Bastards. Meanwhile, Brienne of Tarth finds Robb Stark alive in Riverrun, resurrected by a Red Priest.

Robb goes home, never expecting to see Theon there.

I want to cap off Theon Fic Appreciation Month: Ship Week with a multi-ship fic I adore. Do you see all these ships? Throbb, Theonsa, Greysnow, past Thramsay... And they’re all together in one fic? And the fic is really, really good? Like, heartbreaking and tense and hot and good?

Currently unfinished, but that’s no excuse to not go read it. Now.

The first time he saw her, she was combing her hair sitting on a rock, her red hair standing out in between the blue of the sea. He’d never seen anything like her before.

She looked like the sea, she looked like the sky, she looked like some kind of ancient goddess standing right in front of him. She looked like life itself, powerful but delicate. He wondered how her hair would feel in between his fingers.

He wanted to touch her, he wanted to sing songs to her, he wanted to kiss her. He wanted. And wanted.

Theon Fic Appreciation || Bingo Square: Share a fic that deserves more attention

Since he was fourteen, Theon has been little more than a prisoner of the Lab, and of the Manager who runs it. A thing to be tested, to be experimented on for their own uses. After spending half his life in chains, he manages to escape. But his connection with the outside world is severely fractured, and those who run the Lab are looking for him. He knows he will not get far without help, but would never dream of bringing another into the danger he feels he has brought upon himself...

The thing I find so appealing about Theonsa is the reciprocal, non-heteronormative nature of it. There are times when Sansa needs saving, and times when Theon needs saving; they rescue each other. And this fic starts out with Theon taking on the more damsel in distress role and Sansa stepping in to protect him (naturally he’ll return the favor later).

There’s a very Stranger Things feel to this fic, though it’s not a crossover. Theon has escaped after spending most of his life as a test subject at a lab and runs into Sansa, who takes it upon herself to hide him from the people who are looking for him—and who may also be involved in the deaths of her father and brother.

I’m in love with the plot, but even more than that, the interactions between Sansa and Theon are so sweet and I would love to see this fic finished some day.
