5 pages a month is the most I’ve done for this bonus comic, and sadly it was more than I could handle. They will have be completed and posted early in August.
There was also a bonus art poll, and I am so excited about what looks like the potential winning theme: International Whale Shark Day.
They are so, so beautiful <3
I’m definitely NOT thinking about JC realizing he has spent over a decade stewing and stirring in his complicated feelings regarding WWX only to find out that the man who has been cordial and almost family with is the exact reasoning why everything went sideways. And not to mention this all comes out while he is still in such turbulent turmoil about the golden core issue *screams face first into a pillow*
No, think about it! It’s genuinely awful. I think there’s room for a lot of different takes on Jiggy’s relationship with Jiang Cheng, but regardless of how they felt about each other personally he trusted him to co-parent their nephew. I think based on the minimal interaction we see they were fairly cordial! It’s very clear that even if Jiang Cheng is the primary parent Jiggy is raising a child with him. He knows that Jin Ling loves him, and also exactly how much it hurts when you discover that someone you love and trust and consider to be your family turns out to be you know, evil, not actually very invested in you, and responsible for the deaths of your other family members.
Jiang Cheng on the possibility that Jiggy murdered his own son:
But also, Jiang Cheng when the mob starts yelling about scattering Jiggy’s cremains:
He knows how this goes and it’s always a bad time.
Okay but this pattern...
