Here's my take on a smaaaaaaallll portion of the characters from Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive. Weirdly enough, the most fun to paint was the Stormfather in the bg there.
I honestly can barely keep up with the sheer volume of work the man puts out, but I'll always have shelf space for Kaladin, Shallan, Adolin and the rest.
Next up on the book fan art: Red Rising.
I'm a HUGE fan of Pierce Brown's solar-system-spanning series. Each book just gets more brutal and heartbreaking, yet triumphant and endearing and agonizing and just a huge ol' bag of WTF! moments. Cannot recommend enough.

I haven't posted art in a long time because for some reason Tumblr keeps putting any of my posts regarding my book under a Content Warning, even though there's no objectionable content within.
SO, let's kick things back off with some book fan art. Here are Auri and Kvothe from Patrick Rothfuss's Kingkiller Chronicles series. I'm not holding my breath, but one of my fondest reading wishes is for the third book in the series. The first two (and side novellas) are some beautifully-written prose.
Been on a book fan art kick the last month, and have done 6 pieces from some of my favorite books. We'll start off with the series I'm currently reading; The Sun Eater by Christopher Ruocchio.
This is my take on the MC, Hadrian Marlowe. I'm only a few hundred pages into the second book, but thoroughly enjoyed Empire of Silence. Good space opera, if you're into that sort of thing.
Long time no see, Tumblr! The last 18 months have been super-busy...BUT. I WROTE A FRIGGIN BOOK. And it's OUT!!! Oh man, oh man alive, Riders on the Storm is live and available in paperback, hardcover, and ebook today. 482 pages, 60+ illustrations, 100% human-made, and a ton of fun sci-fi adventure.
Huge thanks to everyone who ordered in advance. I'm soooo stoked about this whole journey, and can't wait to get further into Book 2 (tentatively titled Storm Chasers).
Kudos, hugs, and Kermit the Frog-level arm flailing go out to all of y'all who have encouraged me to get off my backside and do the thing. I finally did the thing at 45 years old. And I plan to keep doing the thing until I can't do it no more. You folks are the real MVPs.

After publishing Riders on the Storm in August 2023, I went into a LONNNNG period of burnout. No writing, and hardly any art for over a year. In September I finally got off my butt and made some fanart for a book series I was reading, and that seemed to uncork the bottle again, thankfully. I'm still in the early stages of writing, but I've done a fair bit of interior illustration for the upcoming sequel, Edge of the Storm, shown here. All are digital colors over traditional pen/ink, which is different from the way I did book 1. The book is outlined and plotted, just gotta knuckle down and get it done :) Oh, and the last picture of Pyk will be a new cover for Riders on the Storm. Planning to reissue it whenever Edge gets published. I had a good brain day a few weeks back and got layouts done for covers of all 3 books. Hope everyone is well out there.
