Sketching out some quick concepts for two more Marines Malevolent characters- Vilyor and Raddok.

Some super basic thoughts about them:

Vilyor's an Apothecary who hates his job more than anything in the world for purely selfish reasons.

He had a path to being Company Champion before he was judged to be more useful as an Apothecary and hasn't been able to let it go. He still holds some ember of hope that he can still be The Best, even while knowing that he doesn't have the time to train to that degree or room for mobility outside of his current station.

He's stuck. He's mad about it. He takes it out on his patients. What's anesthetic? Never heard of her. Will take any excuse he can get to drag someone to the pits for a duel, and as an Apothecary of a particularly difficult Chapter, he gets excuses pretty often.

There's some irony to be found in him being a genuinely talented Apothecary yet discarding acknowledgement of that talent in favor of chasing after a goal he'll never reach, but he tries not to think about it. Temper issues, y'know how it goes.

Raddok's a Captain whose developed an odd reputation for diplomacy. To those outside his Chapter he presents a neutral face made kindly by his proximity to his brothers, a sane man amidst a sea of villains. Someone to put humans at ease or to negotiate with other Astartes, someone almost normal, and it's that misconception that he enjoys.

Raddok is just as cruel as his brothers, just better at couching it in pretty words and hiding behind layers of intent. Instead of blunt verbal violence and quick instigation, he likes a slow torment- keeping his knife shrouded in veils of politeness and social niceties until it's already buried, hilt deep, somewhere damning.

His interests extend slightly over the bounds of pure pragmatism of the type that earns the Marines Malevolent their negative reputation- he clearly enjoys what he does and likes seeing the ugly results of his work, but he's always sure to keep it within reason.

At the end of the day he's a generally level individual. Sure he has his little indulgences, but who doesn't?

The Yaz attack episode SUCKS because it's basically "campus shooting, but with dinosaurs", so it's really not that Fun.

Like...cowardly scientist gets eaten on his birthday abandoning kids? That's kinda funny.

Guy gets pulled apart by T. rexes while saving our heroes? Sad, yes, but he went out like a hero. A champ. He was pulling a gun! He fought to the end!

Babysitter gets eaten trying to rush her charges to safety through a mass panic? Not funny, very sad, but noble and spectacular despite the horror.

Bunch of mercenaries get torn apart by a freak experiment? Yeah, that's what they get for stealing dinosaurs and selling them.

Guy on a scooter gets chomped in the middle of mayhem? Sad for him, but also funny, especially because you know the guy won a contest for that role (probably won the scooter in-universe, too, making it Ironic).

But three random people killed and/or wounded in an almost-indiscriminate attack on a refuge? That is...not cool. It's Too Real. I Do Not Like It. There is A Thing there.
