Receiving The Boots made Peepers so happy he stopped functioning (which is weirdly adorable?) but like. imagine if he got his gift first, before he like… knew what was going on and knew it was Wander.

Slight chance he would've exploded from happiness like a balloon... also, imagine Peepers going the rest of the series being twice as in love with Lord Hater than he was already (like, if he just never found out that was Wander. amazing food for thought.)

The main reason I like the soulmate trope is that if someone is your soulmate in a soulmate universe they basically have to stay and be happy with you. So no I don't like mismatched soulmatea or ones where they don't get together even if they're bona-fide soulmates, because that don't satisfy my abandonment issues.
