Have beating hearts...

The sound of pounding hearts beneath flesh encasement reaches his ears and the scent of skin that is not rotting is like a beacon, head snapping--well, snapping as best a zombie's could--in the direction of said smell. The torn muscles within his body attempt to seize up, tensing for a run, but he forces them still and instead attempts what he hopes is a fragment of a smile. Not for eating, he has to remind himself, keep people safe.

"H...ell...o." He manages to out between groans, it's intelligible at least (he hopes) and that's all he can really ask for, with the lack of muscle movement in his face and the deteriorating voice box in his throat. He has to act human, or be shot in the head.

Between the two, he'd prefer the former.
