What I Think I Would be Doing with My Life if Money Didn’t Matter...
If money didn’t matter, I would spend my life traveling the world with my camera and take breathtaking photographs of this planet’s most incredible places. (Clearly, I have some practicing to do. Lol) I would see and taste and touch as many different cultures as possible, savoring every moment as each image is seared into my senses. I would dance in India, play football with children in Venezuela, lounge in the grass of a park in Spain. If money were no object, I would live every day as if I were young forever.
On the other hand, I wouldn’t be happy if I didn’t try to make a difference. If money didn’t matter, I would fight tooth and nail to prevent animal abusers from being allowed to own pets. I would rescue every sweet fur-baby in need and find them forever homes, even though I would want to keep them all. I would advocate for service dogs, especially emotional support dogs, and especially for pitbulls because they are still tragically misunderstood by so many people. Pitbulls for Parolees would be a charity I would happily advocate for and donate to, because they, too, are often labeled and misrepresented.
Speaking of parolees, I would advocate for prison reform and far better punishment systems. So often are lower-level crimes given overbearing sentences, and white-collar embezzlers and investment scammers given little more than a slap on their cuff-linked wrists. I whole-heartedly believe in the idea of utilizing criminals serving time in the workforce, doing manual labor enough to earn the meals we taxpayers provide. Of course, I would not be in support of overworking these people or treating them inhumanely, but our current penal system simply does not make sense. It is so incredibly inefficient and virtually unproductive!
I would also spend my life reaching out to those who have been sexually abused. They do not understand they are loved and they have no idea that they are worth fighting for, and all it takes is one person to be His hands and feet. One person can change these girls’ and boys’ and women and men’s lives. Just one single person to stand up and tell them that they don’t have to remember because Jesus will never forget.
But, unfortunately, I know it is no where near a perfect world and money does matter. A helluva lot. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t travel the world and capture its beauty through my camera and hold it in my heart. And it doesn’t mean that I can’t help raise awareness for the things I’m passionate about. And it doesn’t mean that I can’t make a difference.
Because I can. And I will. Just you wait and see.
