omg hi!!! so sorry for the late reply, i absolutely did not see this and i’ve been SWAMPED with university work 😣😣 but anyway here’s some thoughts!!

these are a few headcanons i have of initially adopting yoonchae, since i have another one in my drafts of when she’s much older ;))

headcanons

parents!maphinz adopting yoonchae at age 4/5

obviously, there’s the whole adoption process (which i still need to research up on) but first they have yoochae stay with them for a couple months until the court hearing and then she’s officially theirs!!

yoonchae being very quiet and timid, it takes a while for her to open up. sophia is so so so soft and patient with her. she’s also very intuitive and she likes to think she knows what yoonchae wants without her having to say anything

sophia has a motherly vibe to her so i would imagine her taking the lead role in getting yoonchae as comfortable as possible in their house. always offering snacks, drawing her baths with scented oils, tucking her in at night with manon by her side, reading bedtime stories to her, etc

i also imagine sophia cooks her favorite meals and always makes sure they have family dinner together

sophia might seem like the more ‘strict’ parent but trust she knows how to have fun!! tickle fights with yoonchae, dance parties, card games, etc, she just wants to yoonchae to know that her and manon love her so much and that she’s safe with them

manon is just as fun as sophia! i imagine she’d run around with yoonchae, playing tag, hide & seek, putting up a play swing for her

manon also likes when her and yoonchae do arts and crafts, making bead necklaces or bracelets

manon is certainly much more ‘laidback’ than sophia, so throughout the adoption process she took on the role of staying calm and keeping sophia anxiety free

that doesn’t mean manon didn’t have her own worries though. trust mother manon was deep in insecurity of being a parent, raising literal human being is an enormous task, and manon may have struggled with that but the proof is there—yoonchae LOVES her

i mentioned yoonchae being timid, so i feel she’d lean more towards sophia in the beginning stages, but once she’s out her shell she’s literally soooo obsessed with manon. following after her, copying whatever she says and does, intentionally doing silly things bc she loves being the reason for manon’s laughter

manon later also reads bedtime stories to yoonchae, i imagine her and sophia taking turns reading lines and doing funny/scary voices for different characters

any artwork or family drawing yoonchae does immediately goes onto the fridge. megan even joked they’d probably have to buy another one with the way its already so full

they both just love yoonchae and want her to feel apart of the family, so trust once a year they do family photos and also they’re SO annoying when it comes to christmas cards

thats really all i’ve got so far!! i also have another rough draft of yoonchae slowly coming out her shell, though i need to sit down and write but i haven’t found the time :( another thing i considered was making texts of what their family groupchat would look like lmao

as for a fic plot, i do have something in mind that i think could work. i just need to iron out some details but i truly don’t know when i’ll have the chance💔
