THEY ARE NOT . If anyone ever says that Tampons can be used to treat penetrating trauma of any kind I guarantee they have never treated any sort of actual trauma and their medical advice on any further subject should be immediately suspect. A cut up T-shirt will do more than any tampon ever will. There is ZERO excuse to ever have them in your aid kit as a plan to stop major bleeding.
