A fool is someone who doesn’t recognize a fool, and, even more, someone who does, but doesn’t get rid of him.

A queer & disabled lens on the Passion — Palm Sunday's campiness, the cross's folly, and becoming fools for Christ
"Palm Sunday isn’t just a protest; it’s campy queer spectacle. And it follows in a holy tradition of prophetic pageantry...
[W]e remain in Holy Week, reenacting the foolishness of the Passion of Christ:
The Last Supper’s foolishness of eating and singing with friends when your world is collapsing around you; and the absurdity of the Son of God kneeling to do the work of women and enslaved persons;
Gethsemane’s foolishness of refusing to flee those who would kill you while you still can, and of accepting a traitor’s kiss;
and, of course, the foolishness of the cross, where Life itself died. The recklessness of the women who followed after Jesus even to the foot of the cross, though they risked social death in doing so. The hope-against-hope of wondering whether maybe, just maybe, the miracle worker who’s spoken time and again about rising from the dead might do just that — even while you’re rolling a stone that shuts his lifeless body up in the darkness of the tomb.
Please tell me you see what I am seeing.
