I wanted to take a less structured approach to this still life, so I went in only focused on the fact that it be green (the recipient’s favorite color) and that you could at least tell what it’s supposed to be. I have a habit of getting way too caught up in perfection when I’m painting and then getting frustrated that my skill level isn’t where my brain says it should be.
