her eyes went to bellamy’s when she heard his words. they were heavy, compared to any other words they had used before this moment. though she understood where he was coming from. “there is a lot we don’t talk about.” she tells him, her eyes dropping from his face, and instead were looking at the tin in her hands, one that held water in it, before she was taking a sip, and offering him some. “it takes time.” she offers, her voice soft, as well as her eyes, before they flickered up to meet his once more. “if it helps.” she starts, this time her eyes didn’t waver on him at all. “you didn’t do anything wrong. mistakes happen. you came to the ground where people were already living. you came to the lab to save me. you didn’t know what would happen in that bunker. you didn’t know what wars would of happened here on the ground.” she tells him, a hand reaching out to his, to squeeze it softly. “all we can do. is try to forgive ourselves, and make sure we do better. to not follow those mistakes. to not fall into those same traps again.” she says, softly before she was shrugging her shoulders. “or. we could just become murderers and not give a shit who we hurt. if its easier.” it was always easier to kill someone, than to look death in the eyes and accept your own fate. raven would rather die, than to ever kill someone again. but that was her. it didn’t mean it was everyone else. “and i’m sure clarke forgives us for leaving her there on the ground.”
