Let's talk about the BAFTAs.

First off, John Davidson has tourettes. More specifically, he deals with coprolalia, which is a condition in its own that makes people involuntarily do obscene acts. He didn't mean what he said, and he later removed himself from the event so as not to make it worse.

But also, people are totally valid in being offended at this. It's not John's fault, but the n-word did still get shouted out (hard r too), which got dismissed with "sorry you feel that way". That word doesn't exist in a vacuum with some magic "be offended" command, it has a deep history of pain and violence. Don't tone-police black people online for rightfully pointing out that they are being expected to take it on the chin.

BUT ALSO, the BBC left this shit in on purpose. They cut out "Free Palestine" from Akinola Davies Jr's speech, because apparently there is a two hour delay between recording and airing. They left this whole thing in intentionally to stir up controversy. That (and the shitty apology) is very much intentional, active racism and exploitation of black people's feelings.

I love how every interviewer is like "Omg david tennat is it really true that you are really bad with internet and social media stuff?? hahaha look at this clip whre he doesnt know what an eggplant emoji is 😉😂!!! Meanwhile he made a reference to a phrase only the tumblr users that watch good omens would understand on the most prestigous award in britain skwndknwd 😤
