“I stand by my shirt : Lesbians Love Louis Tomlinson” - The Beaches
Hi Gina! Wondering if you (from things you've heard) or someone else with industry experience can chime in with a bit of behind the scenes knowledge about tour life.
The Beaches just did a promo interview that I found interesting where they mentioned they saw Louis on Day 1 of them being on tour with him and haven't been able to talk to him since. https://www.instagram.com/p/DavPbulilQy/
As someone who isn't super in the know on how these things work I just find it fascinating and would love to better understand what tour life is really like. Before I joined the fandom, I naively assumed everyone hung out and it was just this big social thing backstage! All getting to know each other, eating their catered meals together, etc. But the more I follow Louis' tour this time around, I'm not getting that impression at all. I've also noticed every opener only posting one picture with Louis on their last night touring with him. So he obviously has some boundaries in place. We know he's filmed some backstage content with the band lads, which I assume they film between soundcheck and his show time but do we think he just keep to himself or his tight circle outside of the show these days?
I suppose the tl:dr of my curiosity can be summarized as: do artists and their opening acts really not interact all that much behind the scenes?
@hoovesandfloorpaws @louisisalarrie this is yet another question you can answer much better than I can!
Or anyone else?

Anyone that lives in Quebec or surrounds will Not be surprised by what Angine de Poitrine have to offer. The music scene in Quebec is INSANE. There are hidden gems in there that will get 0 traction outside the province that are mindblowing. No one outside of Quebec will have heard the best and sometimes most famous bands doing stuff in the province. If my time in eastern Ontario has taught me anything it's that.
My first ever interview was with a punk band from just outside Montreal whose debut album was called Kim Jong Goes To CÉGEP. There was an insane Montreal jazz band that went viral recently. Muse and My Chem fans - there's a band from Trois Rivières called Absolight making exactly the music you're looking for. Their singer also kinda looks like Gerard Way, which to me adds to the MCR feels.
Klô Pelgag is an amazing artist and even made it to the Polaris Prize longlist last year. Les Shirleys, who got the call up to open for Foo Fighters at an intimate (for Foos; 4000 capacity hockey rink) are THE cool rock band you looking for. They broke a few months before The Beaches became Canada's phenomenon.
Don't take Toronto's approval of an artist's popularity (or lack thereof) as a sign of anything. They don't know that there are entire scenes out there they will never hear about.
Or, should I bring back the ‘Canadian propabanda’ 50-band long Canadian band recommendation post that crashes everyone's internet?

🎸 Leandra Earl (keyboards, guitar, backing vocals) from The Beaches posted this Tiktok singing to Out of My System, 10 October 2025. She had also tweeted that she loved this song x
The Beaches will be supporting Louis on his HDWGHW tour in North America in 2026.
