If I had a nickel for every time one of my favorite Star Trek characters felt alone in the world and ended up with a child just like them, who they cared deeply for and tried to raise as best they could, and then in the same episode had to watch that child die as they and everyone around them did everything they could to try to save the child, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice
