ROLE IN THE HIGH COURT : UNDERSEA FAE & HEIR(ESS) OF THE COURT
you were born of the sea, saltwater-specked, with a temper that raged and waned with the phase of the moon. you were a marvel, even among fey, and your court followed you with no hesitation. you were royal, the heir, destined to command the undersea when its current rulers time was up, and perhaps others could have contented themselves with that role. not you, you wanted more. the idea was always fleeting in past, but pulsing desire coursed through you when it was announced the high king was dead. this was your opportunity to be something better. if you didn’t seize the chance now, how would you bear the sight of yourself for millennium to come ?
THE ALLEGIANT : bodyguard , you used to chafe under the watchful eye of your guards. you understood their necessity, but it never settled well with you, this idea of basic privacy being forbidden. you never acted out, you never prevented them from doing their job, but you maintained you didn’t have to like them. it changed when you saw the allegiant wracked with grief. it struck you in a way you never imagined. perhaps you have a gentle streak. you reached out, and somehow they became something of a friend. no, they became more that. you share no blood, but you share spirit. you love them in a way you will never know another, not romantic, but something beyond the grasp of most human and fey. you know nothing of forever except they will be there until your end.
THE COQUETTE : advisor , when you were young and still learning your way, the coquette fed words into your mouth, advice on what to say to the court. but now that you are older and wiser, they simply give comment and advice when needed. at least, that is what the court sees: a future monarch and their advisor, nothing else. but there is more to the pair of you two than that. behind closed doors, you think and you scheme. you have power from your birthright, but lust for more is there. you have dreams and vision for your court, for your world. they have made it clear that they will help you reach your goals.
THE CREDULOUS : manipulations , although you can be gentle, one would be a fool to think you kind. you saw the credulous and you were struck with an idea. you knew of the magnate’s fondness for them and this — this could be used to your advantage. you tell them you are looking out for them, that you want them to understand the cruelty of fey. really, you are drawing them close so that you can pull the magnate into your grasps, away from the winter court and into your power. you don’t mind so much as to what happens to the credulous in the end, so long as your court comes out with higher power.
