You know that post that's like, "Sure, he believes in gender equality and dreams of the working class revolution, but he doesn't do the dishes."

There's an alternative to that that's, "Sure, he believes in earning your keep and traditional family life, but he doesn't do the dishes."

And don't forget the, "Sure, she's an empowered girlboss who can do anything and doesn't need help, but she doesn't do the dishes."

And of course, we can't forget, "Sure, they're emotionally in-touch and cares about your feelings and won't say mean things, but they don't do the dishes."

The dishes in this house aren't getting done, so what's the difference between any of them?

Hmm, how would both versions of you know that neither of you is the better one? How would we know a better version exists? Like, if the 4th or 5th version is better - couldn't they be worse? (Sorry, you don't have to answer this ask, I'm just having an existential crisis)

I suppose that entirely depends on who you are and how well you know yourself. I know myself well enough to know what the worst version is, and at least well enough to guess at what the best could be. I also believe I know myself well enough to recognize them all.

Okay, I definitely need writing partners to practice with. At this point it’s most certainly a necessity, otherwise I’ll just embarrass myself. And not just a practice partner. I think I’m also in need of someone who’d offer constructive criticism. Someone who won’t coddle me.

I mean, I do realize that the gap between ten years of roleplaying experience and three years of writing only can’t be filled within days or even weeks. Even so, I want to learn. I just don’t think I can do it entirely on my own this time, though.
