Las Causas

Soy un romántico irremediable, lo asumo, lo digo y grito a los cuatro vientos. El ser un romántico de primera me ha hecho en gran medida lo que soy, siempre lo he sido desde que tengo memoria, y ello me ha metido en muchos problemas. Más de los que hubiera esperado, más de los que quisiera aceptar. Pero bueno, al menos siempre me comprometo al cien por ciento con lo que hago, llámese relación, trabajo o incluso un pasatiempo personal.  A lo largo de los años he conocido personas que jamás se han comprometido con nada, o con alguien, mi caso es lo opuesto totalmente, puedo tener el peor trabajo del mundo, y soy incapaz de faltar un día solo por el hecho de no querer ir a trabajar, no puedo dejar de lado las responsabilidades, simplemente no puedo. Algo similar me pasa con las relaciones, me comprometo, entro en ellas con los dos pies, uñas, manos y demás conjunto, asumo mi responsabilidad, me entrego en todo, tiempo, mente, espíritu, y en este momento es cuando empiezan a sentir pánico las personas del sexo opuesto, lo se, es atemorizante, tengo que vivir conmigo todos los días. El problema es que en los últimos años, de manera intermitente, he estado en relaciones en las que tengo un pie dentro y otro fuera, y eso me da más miedo aún, ya que en mis grandes relaciones personales, aquellas que me han definido en muchos sentidos, en las que he estado comprometido en cuerpo y alma, no he salido tan bien parado. A partir de esos tropiezos, mi ausencia de compromiso se vuelve más escalofriante, no encuentro, y al parecer no quiero encontrar, ese pretexto para entrar en una relación bajo la cual me entregue por completo. Es miedo a que me destrocen el músculo ese que late de nuevo, o simplemente es tanto el temor de volver a sentir ese devastador sentimiento después de aquellas rupturas, tan presente, tan vívido, que prefiero estar solo en lugar de tener que pasar por ello de nuevo. No lo se. Simplemente no lo se, y eso es más aterrador aún.

Se que en cuanto encuentre a la persona indicada, todas estas palabras pasarán a segundo plano, o eso quiero creer. Solo espero tener la sensatez de poder entender lo que está pasando en el momento adecuado. Dentro de mi ridículo romanticismo tengo, mi poesía favorita, creo que define mi sentimiento hacía ese ente extraño conocido como amor de una manera tan delicado y elegante que es simplemente abrumador, en todos los sentidos.
