The top image is the first drawing I ever did of Mel, bottom is a better look at the placement of her Tattoos
(I was trying to decide if I wanted to give her more or not)
I've had a lot of fun revisting my Buffy books so far. It brings back middle and high school memories of taking books back and forth with the only other Buffy obsessed girl (she even had several of the comics), and of the two of us making family trees of who sired who. Of swooning over Spike and Dru, being sure that science had no choice but to clone David Boreanaz, and swooning of Spike and Dru (we did that a lot, it bears mentioning twice).
Anyway, this time I read The Deathless, set during season 3. Meh. It was okay, not terrible, but flawed. The worst for me was Faith's pov. No joke, every other paragraph mentioned her being from Boston. To the point it was actually distracting. She felt true to character at that point in the show (pre Bad Girls), so it sucked to have that ruined.
They build up a villain that never shows, and the ending is really unsatisfying. Baba Yaga gets no comeuppance. Bulat is made out to be very sympathetic. He's immortal and wants only to die, which makes his end fate really unpalatable. The Deathless has potential that I just don't think it reaches.
I like how the A and B plots come together. Though, I feel like the book did Cordelia dirty. She felt true to her character growth in Wild Hunt. Here she was season 1 all over again. And sure, it's post Xander break up, but I get the idea the author had no idea on how to write for her.
if you’re cold, it’s probably because of them. IT DOESN’T MATTER IF YOU LET THEM IN YOU’RE DOOMED ANYWAY!!!!!!
another oc! the older sibling to the guy i posted earlier :)
Title: The Deathless | Author: Peter Newman | Publisher: Harper Voyager (2018)
Immortal bodyless creature destined to watch as life comes and goes, but it stays. It can never die. It's alone. It is deathless.
Until it becomes a child and every time it dies, it comes back again as another person. For few years, it feels the gap in its soul be mended. It loves life. It loves death. It loves humans and everything that lives and dies. It becomes lively.
It is immortal but so, so fragile.
Haha Ive finally gotten round to finnishing another of the Gods, This is Hive, they use they/ he pronouns, hes mostly based off of the idea of a hive mind. The Deathless they resurect are people who forcefully controlled others. They get added into Hive's hive mind and are then controlled for 3× the time they controlled those people for.
Also this is their human form, theyre skin tone shifts unlike the other gods so their form changes
I forgot to post this, it wont make any sense but oh well
