talking ab gadreel with my mom and lowkey it’s so fucked up that he got sent to prison for all eternity bc he messed up. like he didn’t just let a snake in the garden. he let his big brother. his big brother who has JUST fallen. we don’t even know if gadreel knew he had fallen yet. he saw his big brother, knowing lucifer he was asking for help, asking for gadreel to see his side and asking for the sympathy that their dad didn’t give him. i’m sorry but as a younger sibling that would be hard as fuck to turn away from. he saw his brother in pain and probably scared, and he chose to help him. it was a mistake but hindsight isn’t something you have in that moment.
esp when you consider that angels definitely see time differently than humans, for gadreel is was probably like a day max since lucifer had fallen, so you see your big brother that just got kicked out of the house, physically and mentally hurt and scared, and you choose to help him. it fucking sucks that he got imprisoned for thousands and thousands of years for that.
i don’t *love* gadreel but god he did not just let the snake in. he let his brother in and i feel like spn did not hit on that enough
