'Fagus, have you ever heard of Pandora? Pandora the Flexiform? Well, I have, but only deep within the Dark Times texts. What about the Oubliette of Eternity or... or the Division? Maybe even the Chronomite Knights and their Eternal Steeds?'
"This isn't telling me about the Flexiform. Or the Chasm of Schisms. Or the Timewyrm. Or the-"
The Four Faces of Immortality, by Gary Russell
This story is set ages before The Five Doctors- Jarel is one of the Time Lords that Borusa joined when he also "won" the Game of Rassilon.

(is there any demand for fanfics of this Character? No and I don't care, self indulgent fluff is fun :)

Agents going MIA on missions wasn't new, or really that surprising although in most situations they would reappear quickly after the success of a mission. But this was different, something was off about this mission, the agent- no- her agent- hadn't checked in. No sign of anything, no notifications of any JTF patrols seeing them, it was like they had disappeared and it was freaking her out. Kelso wasn't a stupid woman by any means, there was likely plenty of reasons why her agent hadn't checked in but it hadn't stopped her from pacing a weary Ortega's office. "You know you are going to wear a whole in the floor right? The sheriff knows what they are doing, it will be fine." His voice was calm, gentle in an attempt to calm his pacing friend but it seemed the raven haired woman didn't hear him. Her chest felt tight, fear weaving its vines up the agent's body to wrap around her neck. Pacing didn't stop with Ortega's gentle pleas, making countless steps around the desk until there was a commotion outside. As it turned out the sheriff had completed their mission but Kelso had been so preoccupied she never heard ISAC's normal "target decreased" call. Sheriff made it back to the base but was barely making it. JTF intercepted them at the gate, helping them inside frantically as they brought the sheriff up to the medical bay which wasn't far from the office. A shared look and the two were exiting the room to find out what was happening. "What the hell is happening out here?" "Sheriff is back ma'am, but in rough shape-" No time was given for them to respond as Kelso quickly strode into the medbay, the woman having to hold herself back from running. Besides a few in the base, nobody knew the two agents were together; Kelso wanted to keep it that way. There was no way in hell she was ashamed of her sheriff, hell no, but she didn't want them to be even more of a target. They saw what happened to Espinoza, not again. Dark thoughts clouded to the forefront of her brain, twisting as the woman didn't realize she made it into the medbay to just stand there. Speaking snapped her out, blinking only to see a shorter doctor standing in front of her with a concerned expression. "You are here for the other agent aren't you ma'am?" Kelso could only muster a nod. "We are working on them, the wounds are nasty but we have them stable. They sustained a gunshot to the thigh, it's likely that they won't be able to be active for a few months." No argument could be made with that tone of voice, simply a matter of fact as she was told everything they knew she would ask. Getting called back in, the doctor excused herself back into the other room leaving Kelso to stand again. One hand went to fiddle with her watch, nervously watching the time as it ticked by for nearly an hour before there was finally an update. Her update came in the form of a bandaged agent being rolled out into the main room, locking eyes with hazel ones as Kelso let her guard drop. Quick strides got her across the room quickly as she waited for the nurses to be done. It didn't take them long, and of course as soon as they left Kelso pressed a soft kiss to their S/O's forehead. An exhausted but soft smile answered them, hand moving to thread with hers as she sat down. Her hand was gently pulled to their mouth as they pressed a soft kiss to the palm, getting a small hum. That hand went to hold their face, tracing the scars down past their lips and across their cheeks. "You had me worried, you know that right Ku'uipo?" Giving a small chuckle in response, she was answered with a gentle tug closer to them. Knowing exactly what they wanted, Kelso relented to press her forehead against theirs with closed eyes. One soft muttered confession of love and she was melting all over again as they gave her that little giddy grin they always did. "I love you too Ku'uipo" Neither was aware of the doctors seeing them, nor did they care as the others took their leave with whispers of the sweet little scene. Her agent came home to her, and Kelso was not about to let them go any time soon.
Absolutely WRAPT WITHAL with the implication that the Division created the Angels.
It's an idea just teeming with possibilities and terror and evil and I can't wait for the final two episodes. A literal chill passed through me at the end of the episode, especially 13's reaction to being "recalled".
She doesn't know the complete extent of what that means, but she knows that it is going to be worse than anything she's ever had to experience before. The complete and utter unknown combined with her missing past and the evils who took her memories just shakes her to her core and Jodie Whittaker played that to PERFECTION.
The fear, the resignation, the involuntary conversion to an Angel. God, I can't wait for next week.
