School can be hell
If you have gender dysphoria then you most likely already know about the things mentioned in this post, but there will be things that friends and family won’t think about. Some of the posts will be more aimed at helping to inform friends and family.
Unfortunately one place that is very gender devised is school. It can be a huge decision about weather you even go to the bathroom.
For many teens transitioning isn’t an option, because it’s to expensive or their family doesn’t understand and support them or a number of other reasons. The bathroom can also be a nightmare for any teens that don’t identify as either a male or a female.
There aren’t many options for students like this, other than coming out as trans and then using the bathroom you feel best represents your gender.
Another issue along with feeling comfortable in the bathrooms is that trans males (people who are born female that identify as male) will most likely still have their period. This is something that cannot just be ignored for the whole day.
The only advice I have is that tampons are much quieter than pads.
none of this is the person’s fault. it’s the society that we live in unfortunately.
The unfortunate side
Unfortunately having gender dysphoria has many negative connotations in western society.
Because a lot of people don’t fully understand what it is or how these people feel, bullying is very common. Because of this it’s extremely common for teens and anyone else in this community to suffer from depression, anxiety and loneliness. Suicide is also unfortunately common.
None of these things are the fault of the person though. It is simply the society that we live in that people like this are not accepted fully.
There are of course different parts that accept transgenders and genderqueers more than others. In the Australian Capital Territory and new south wales have passed a law that recognises non binary as a gender identity.
It is actually against the law to harass someone in new south wales because they are transgender.
While these laws are not across all of Australia it is defiantly a step in the right direction.
Any pop punk problems. Any.
I try so hard not to dwell
And I need to know what's in your head. With one hand on the wheel, the other hand in yours, this moment is far from perfect and I've got the drive but I won't try anymore.
