bro imagine being the parents of a jedi who survived order 66 but died later. imagine being like. obi-wan's parents, kanan/caleb's parents, uh, fucking ahsoka's parents (ik she didn't actually die but she was presumed dead for. a while.)
cause like surely there was some kind of public record of this in the early new republic.
you sent your child away to be a jedi. a noble path. you make your peace with the fact that your child will grow up far away and you will never know their exact fate. and then the republic falls and the jedi are wiped out and your child is gone and even though it's been years, even decades, since you've seen your child, you never thought this would happen.
and then the empire is gone and you learn that your child lived. your child was one of the lucky few who survived knightfall, order 66, the inquisitors. your child lived.
but your child isn't alive. your child survived, but not long enough. you have to mourn your child all over again, because they didn't die to clones twenty-three years ago, they died only a few years ago. in a fiery explosion. to the emperor's attack dog. et cetera. but anyway, your child lived and now they're dead.
