So, hears the thing...

I need more badass!MC’s! Especially in the supernatural/fantasy genre. I mean, take Bloodbound for example (which I’m not the biggest fan of anyway) the MC is human, surrounded by all these badass vampires. I hate fight scenes so much cause the MC is practically useless, throwing rocks and sticks while the others take them all out. How different would the book be if the MC was actually a vampire? Totally different book, am I right? And one that might actually be enjoyable to play (sorry to all the Bloodbound fans!).

Another one is Nightbound (which I am in love with, except for this minor flaw). The MC had so much potential!! When I found out that the MC could see past the glamours, I thought here we go, the MC is gonna be a badass. Wrong!! Turns out she’s just a princess, a half fae which is kinda cool, but still a princess?! And again, she pretty much leaves the fighting to the other characters except for the few occasions that you buy a diamond scene where she can actually fight.

This is probably why I adore The Elementalist so much, because the MC is actually a really powerful character. They can handle themselves in a fight, more than often they are the ones that end the fight, and they can just be a real badass at the best of times. We need more like this MC. And look at the older books too. Kenna is a badass, Dom is super powerful, Endless Summer MC is a natural leader, and there’s a lot more where you can feel proud of playing the MC, instead of being frustrated and irritated.
