RedHook // Inarticulate ft. The Faim
Song sharing Sunday
'I wanna feel something I wanna feel air that I can breathe I'm tired of being nothing I'm tired 'cause I don't want to be Make believe'
Wesper Song!!
Hear me out!
"The Alchemist" by The Faim is the most Wylan song from Jesper's perspective I've heard out of the blue (as in, it came up in my playlist)
First of all, banger song, listen to this
But look at these lyrics, I am going feral actually
Black eye and afraid of love
Was in pieces on the floor till you came around and stitched me up
Tell me this is not Jesper pre-Wylan, deep in the trenches of the barrel, indebted, addicted, ashamed of his Grisha abilities. But then Wylan came along and helped him dig himself out
'Cause you took this lead, turned it into gold
You took my heart and made it whole
You created diamond from a stone
This is just ✨chemistry✨ and sappy, but also Jesper being fascinated and so impressed by what Wylan can produce, in love with his intelligence and cleverness and wit. And how Wylan chose him (Jesper would call himself lead in comparison to gold) and helped him become something greater!
When I'm with you, you turn my blue a warmer colour
(this is just a beautiful line)
I was a lonely drifter, gone with the wind, girl
Never saw a life like this
You make December feel like the summer
Oh, you showed me that love exists
You're the alchemist
Again, Jesper pre- vs post-Wylan. He was living life as it came along and presented itself to him, good or bad, until he found someone to live for, to be good for, to put in effort into himself for. Wylan showed him a different side of what life can be, like how kissing him can be an equal thrill to gambling.
This is a Wylan appreciation post, but from Jesper's perspective. Hopefully one day I can turn this into more than just analysis rambling and maybe write a fic or draw something, but for now this needs to be enough, thank you for listening
