This was an utterly okay book. I can’t say I didn’t enjoy it, and I certainly didn’t hate it, I felt a general “eh, whatever” towards it.

I do think the take on the status of women in 1880′s New York was a bit too heavy handed–most other steampunk authors can show strong women dealing with a less feminist…

a very serious moment. He was about to be killed. But then these villains started damning eachother with their villain names and now I can only sit here and giggle helplessly.

Ohmygod I'm having hysterics.

I cannot take this book seriously. I'm trying really hard too and I almost manage it, but then these men start calling each other by their superhero names and describing their special chairs and the superhero hall and OHMYGOD I AM GOING TO DIE FROM THE RIDONKULOUSNESS. I can totally see it too. Men are so like this in real life. Ohmygod. LAUGHING. LAUGHING SO HARD.
