Some new CDs I got last week
Two are female led heavy albums which are both awesome and one CD I thought the cover art was just cool. So one was an impulse but like anything it lead me to another album. The band name The Frerrymen reminded me of the song from the 80’s Don’t Pay The Ferryman. So I had to see who sang that. To find out it was Chris de Burgh who sang another song I like The Lady In Red. So I had to seek out his albums to find a 3 CD collection which was only $6 on Amazon, so could not pass it upsince it had both songs I liked on it. Amazon said it was the last one and now when you go on it’s $28. So not sure how I got it so cheap when I did. Guess I just have to be thankful for it.
All albums are great. However The Ferrymen CD; which I bought because of the cover; I like a little better over the other two I bought at the same time. No disappointment at all with these purchases. They all rock!!!!!

The Ferrymen est un trio alchimique de power metal formé par le guitariste Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear, Allen/Lande) qui est aussi principal compositeur et producteur de l’album, le chanteur Ronnie Romero (Lords of Black, Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow et CoreLeoni ) et le batteur Mike Terrana (Vision Divine, Avalanch, Kreyson) leur 4ème opus avec 11 titres est sorti le 24 janvier 2025 via Frontiers Music Srl.

Depuis l’album « Ferrymen » (2017), « A New Evil » (2019), « One More River to Cross » (2022) le niveau constant de qualité progressait. Cette « Volonté de Fer » virevoltante en première lecture s’essouffle dans la seconde partie de l’album.
Cela ne tourne pas à vide mais il y a un phénomène de répétition, d’asthme mélodique qui dissipe et perd en caractère.

New Album: The Ferrymen - One More River to Cross

The Ferrymen have become an established name amongst European melodic metal fans after their first two successful albums. Now fans can enjoy album number three.
The trio were formed by the masterful Swedish guitarist/songwriter/producer Magnus Karlsson and the awesome vocalist Ronnie Romero. Ronnie has sung with Lords of Black, Sunstorm, Rainbow, whilst Magnus is known for his work with Primal Fear, Magnus Karlsson's Free Fall.
The lineup is completed by the thunderous drummer Mike Terrana from Rage, and Axel Rudi Pell's band.
Once again, this new album "One More River To Cross" is a huge shot of adrenaline for all lovers of melodic heavy metal, wrapped with the stunning artwork of Stan W. Decker.
