The Ground Snatchers
These are some monster design sketches and developments for my "Ground Snatcher" creature for my Chosen One story.
These creatures live in old battlefields and feed off the dead. They tend to also lie in waiting for prey to approach them where they will then sprout roots that bind the victim and twist and break their bodies like rinsing out a wet cloth to keep their roots hydrated.
The King of Worms
This behemoth is the King of Worms and rules everything beneath the Earth and is widely considered the Father of the Ground Snatchers. He is the keeper of the dead and owns all the precious stones and metals beneath the earth. His body is made up at the broken bones of giants, held together obtusly by roots and millions of worms of which he uses to gather information and be omnipresent around the world.
