I like to think that the Halberd is very much sentient in the same vein as the Lor Starcutter, however the Halberd is NOT on speaking terms with Meta Knight or any of his friends. Everyone equally is subjected to the Halberd’s legendary cold shoulder.

I thought it’d be fun to try to translate the Japanese dialogue for Revenge of Meta Knight because I love MK’s subordinates (all of them <3 <3 <3) and also I heard that his motivations for trying to take over Dream Land were different than the English ones so yeah.
...except I can’t find the Japanese dialogue from the cutscene at the start of the sub-game so if anyone knows where I can find that I’d appreciate it.
(ok my translations won’t be completely LITERAL because I prefer to get the meaning across better but rest assured the actually important stuff will be preserved)
(also: the suffix さま doesn’t have a direct translation in English so I’m just going to stick with translating it the way Super Star Ultra does as “Lord” since it works and spoiler alert but SSU is the superior translation to SS)
Character dialogue will be labeled with the character’s name followed by a colon. Differences between Super Star and Super Star Ultra will be labeled as such.
There are like two lines I needed to put translation notes for, marked by an asterisk.

Notes:
*I don’t know if there's any significance to it being えまい instead of えない here.
*Yes, ぎゃふんといわせて/ぎゃふんと言わせて refers to talking someone down/arguing someone into silence, apparently.
*しにぞこない/死に損ない generally refers to someone missing/escaping death. I went with this wording because ども in second-person plural context is derogatory i think, and so is the suffix め, so I’m assuming there’s more... harsh connotations here, i guess (idk how to word it).
*すまない can mean multiple things (including “excuse me” or “thank you”) but “I’m sorry” makes the most sense here.
